My awesome A new breed of young Filipino professionals are being hired for top jobs in international destinations.

This book guides them in facing crossroads as they move and settle in other countries. “Abroad Me: 22 Success Strategies for Young Overseas Filipinos” is a 140-page book filled with life lessons and tips to help Filipinos make the most out of their overseas experience. The workbook-type guide has 22 chapters each with short, blog-like essays and a series of exercises. The book builds on inspiring and preparing Filipinos for their journeys abroad.

“Abroad Me isn’t about going abroad and earning a living. Abroad Me is about making your overseas experience count for your success and for our society’s progress. It’s not about flying out. It’s about spreading your wings to get a broader perspective of the world.

About the author

“I was once an idealist who thought that the only way you can prove your love for your country is to stay. Over time, I’ve learned that patriotism isn’t bound by geography, but by a desire to make things better for the next Filipino generation.”

For the last five years, Anne Quintos has been based as an I.T. professional in Taiwan, where she is now a permanent resident. She founded HayPinas.org, a web advocacy project and online resource for overseas Filipinos.

A daughter of a former OFW father herself, she understands the sacrifices that many Filipino families go through to secure a better future.

In writing her first book, she shares life lessons on common challenges faced by Filipino professionals working abroad. It is her ardent hope that every Filipino who leaves will keep the desire to someday return to the country and give back.

Currently, Anne is gradually transitioning back to the Philippines as an entrepreneur.
